PHA Nutrition Consultants

Our nurse practicioners are interested in childhood obesity and its adverse health related effects and are available for nutrition consults.

Nutrition Consultants provide nutritional counseling for children who might be at risk in the following areas: body mass index (BMI) above the 85th percentile, high cholesterol or triglyceride levels, picky eaters and children underweight for their age. We also provide guidelines for wholesome vegetarian eating. One of our nurse educators will meet with your child for an hour-long visit to discuss your family's diet and lifestyle. This consultation will be used to evaluate your child's daily routine and then help develop realistic nutrition and exercise goals. Follow up visits are then scheduled on an as-needed basis.
